I might be slightly behind the times but have you heard of Foot Zoning?

Reflexology, or zone therapy, is an alternative medicine involving the physical act of applying pressure to the feet, hands, or ears with specific thumb, finger, and hand techniques.

Have you done it?

Didn't you LOVE IT?!?

I had the opportunity a couple of weeks ago to try it out for the first time. Truth be told.... I was a little skeptical at first. I mean come on, really, your whole body is in a "Map" on the bottom of your feet?

And the BIGGEST reason... I HATE, HATE, HATE having my feet touched! But... it was my nephew, he is still in school, needed some hours, and I trusted him. He used Essential Oils for the treatment and it was so calming and relaxing. There definitely were some problem areas but the most amazing thing was when he transferred energy from him to me! I could honestly feel it, I LOVED IT!! (I wasn't even really paying attention but when he started that, it caught my attention immediately!)

He warned me that some people become sick, tired, have headaches, or feel energized. I thought that for sure I was in for a horrible headache but I was the exact opposite. I felt so energized! And what new mom doesn't appreciate that at around 2:00 in the afternoon. I also felt that way for a few days after.

One of the areas that he work on was my neck. I suffered an injury back in high school and have been bothered with a headaches just about every day. Since the zoning I have had only a few, that has been wonderful! He also stated that he could feel the incision from my C-Section on my foot! I know, crazy!!! This one I'm not proud of but he stated that maybe I should open up and start expressing my feelings. I've known this forever, but haven't wanted to. Maybe one of these days.

But since the zoning I have also become a firm believer in the use of Essential Oils.

They are all natural, the smell great, and I always could use a burst of energy at any given point throughout the day. They have helped with the treatment of my headaches, the hubby suffers from cold sores year round, and our daughter recently had a cold which once we started using Lavender on her night and morning there was a noticeable change in her cough and the way she felt. Stuffed Green Peppers - Recipe

Ya know you have some or at least one of these. Super easy, no thought, go to recipes.

Well, here is one of mine.

I love these!!!

STUFFED GREEN PEPPERS

1 pound of ground beef
1/4 Cup chopped Onion
1 12 oz. can Whole Kernel Corn
1 8 oz. can Tomato Sauce
1 Cup cooked Rice
1/4 Cup A1 Steak Sauce
1/4 tsp. Ground Black Pepper
6 Large Green Peppers

Brown meat & cook onion until done; pour off drippings. Stir in corn, tomato sauce, rice, steak sauce, & pepper; set aside. Cut tops off peppers; remove seeds. Spoon meat mixture into peppers; arrange in 9x9x2 in. baking pan. Bake at 350' for 30-35 min. or until peppers are done.

Just to mix it up and to not actually "Stuff the Peppers" I simply slice the peppers up and add them to the mix. Heat everything up. (I like the peppers warmed but still crunchy.) Put on a taco shell, a dollup of Sr. Cream, and Salsa. Delish!!! I even like to eat these as leftovers, the hubby doesn't think so but hey, if it means a day I don't have to cook, I am all about the leftovers.

Oh, and of course who could forget your favorite beverage. Mine is COKE!!!

2011 Year End Review & Thank You!

First off I have to start by telling you all Thank You!!!

You are the reason why I do what I do.

I love your Inspiration, your Talents, and all your Support .

I truly love all the patience you have shown me this last little while to all my readers that have stuck by me. I have not been consistent and I haven't posted many projects lately. But you have stuck by me. I honestly do not have the time with the baby. I forgot how much attention they really do need. My days consist of a lot of feeding times and diaper changes. Plus, I went back to my job when she was only 2 weeks old. (Granted it only part-time, but that is plenty to have on my plate at this time.) So in turn it doesn't leave me a lot of time for projects or for posting. I keep telling you I will do better but it hasn't happened, so lets be honest, it might not change for awhile. I have little ones to take care of and to play with and they simple need me right now. And I love that they do, cuz here in a few years they won't need me as much and other people will begin to influence their lives more and more.

I'm not saying that I'm not going to post about projects or about the happenings in our lives. I enjoy it too much to quit. Besides, I'm not a quitter! I just might not be doing it very regularly. So hang with me for a little longer! By the way, the baby is now rolling over! Yes, it is from her belly to her back but I can't believe it. She is too tiny to be doing this! This truly was a hard realization. She is already starting to change and to do things on her own. So now you know what is going on and why.

I think I'll finish up with a year in review so here are the posts that received the most visits this year.

Christmas Decorations & Gifts 2011

I am so far behind but, Hey better late than never!

This is our Christmas Tree.

It is the same year after year.

I Love It!

We own an older home and the decorations simply fit the home. I don't load it up with lights or ornaments. I have some stockings, red pajamas/long johns, mittens, and candy canes.

Oh, and if you look close there is a tiny baby carriage complete with "2011" for our Babies 1st Christmas.

This shelf is also a repeat.

There isn't a fireplace or a mantle but the shelf & pegs fulfill the responsibility.

I am a Boyd's Bear collector and this is where Santa & The Mrs. are displayed this year along with the small wooden sleighs, the stockings, and the signature Hallmark Countdown Ornament for the oldest little one.

(The hubby & I have given her a new ornament each year so that when she has her own tree she'll have ornaments from her childhood. And should I mention, that was his idea? Good job dear!)

This is a quick gift that we gave this year. I have seen tons of photos on Pinterest, so I can and won't take credit for the idea myself.

They were simple, inexpensive, and ever so cute!

I bought some hand soap on clearance, spray painted them, added the vinyl and ribbon, and done.

Easy, Easy!!!

I know these pictures are really late, but better late than never, Right?!?

This year we all carved pumpkins. We did it early so needless to say they didn't last too long.

I wanted to do it before the baby got here so we could all have some fun and fun we had!!

Ellie was a little skunk and Oh, So Cute!!!

I attempted to sew the custom and thanks to my Mother in Law that Dream became a Reality.
I bit off more than I could chew on this project. Thank You!!!

After Ellie got home all she wanted to do was hold her sister. She wasn't really interested in her candy.

Can you believe that after only going to 3 houses she filled her bucket 1/2 full?!? This little girl is loved by more than just us!

(Plus I swore when I found out that we were having another girl I wasn't going to dress them alike, and look at what I got sucked into. And on the first Holiday after Emerie was born!)

I have a CONFESSION.
I love movies that have anything to a good "Drug/Attorney/Excitement" base to them.

For example....
(These are listed in order from newest to oldest, not necessarily from best to worst.)

I don't recommend watching any of these with children (some have some very graphic and disturbing scenes.)

However, there is some excellent information on how and why people do what they do. The drive, rush, and power, from living the life they live.

Limitless
A writer discovers a top-secret drug which bestows him with super human abilities.

The Lincoln Lawyer

A sleazy defense attorney has a crisis of conscience when he represents a wealthy client who has a foolproof plan to beat the system.

American Gangster
In 1970s America, a detective works to bring down the drug empire of Frank Lucas, a heroin kingpin from Manhattan, who is smuggling the drug into the country from the Far East.

Blow

Why do I spend time watching some of these? I can't answer it.
(But, check out who the actors are, I'm sure that I am not lured in on looks alone.)

I think much too often people are quick to pass judgment on another individual when they discover that someone suffers from an addition. When in reality know one really understands what a person may be dealing with or the real reason of why they are involved in this lifestyle.

Each time I watch one I think to myself.

"Maybe you should be an attorney."

Then the other questions soon follow....

"What side would you represent, Could you live with yourself after a trial and a decision has been made, Could you handle the pressure and risks that go along with being an attorney?"

To be honest, each time the thought arises, the answers change. So no, I haven't made a commitment to this lifestyle. And.... I guess until I can answer those questions and feel good about them I shouldn't pursue that desire.

I will also admit that there have been family members of ours that have and are dealing with issues of their own. I don't have the answers, and many times have I been asked why are they involved?

If I only knew.

If only there was an easy answer to why someone gets involved in this lifestyle. There wouldn't be any questions, there wouldn't be the frustration, and the blame involved. Also, there might be an easy solution to the problem but.... There Isn't.

Unfortunately, there is also a lot of heartache for those that care, love, and are close to someone with an addiction. So, there you have it, these are the types of movies I can watch again and again. I can also finish the movie loving it more each time.

2011 Summer Recap

Someone told me that after my little one turned 1 the milestones would diminish.

Which, in a way I have to agree but.....

The milestones that were reached this year have been huge!!!

For instance -
#1 She can pedal and ride her own bike.
#2 She can swing all by herself.
(That is when she wants, she still enjoys Mom & Dad pushing her so that she can go Big High.)
#3 Potty Training - Need I say anymore?!?
#4 Already can count to 13
#5 Knows her A,B,C's

I apologize.....

I haven't fallen off the face of the earth.

It has been very busy around here getting for this new baby.

I haven't stopped crafting, I just do the majority of it at night.

And we all know that night time is horrible for taking pictures.

I wish I can tell you things will be different once she gets here, but who knows what she is going to be like.

I am hoping for one that likes to at least sleep and knows her days from her nights.

Since right now I'm not sure she does.

Halloween Projects

I know it has been awhile since I have posted but I promise I have been busy!
Here are a few projects that have been occupying my time...

Stuffed Fabric Pumpkins.

I have seen these all over the web and blog land. I wanted some of my own but didn't want to pay the price.
I made them very simple. I cut two square pieces of fabric with the top corners rounded, sewed right sides together, made and stuffed the vine and sewed that to the "body" pieces, stuffed with stuffing and some small sand bags(for weight so the crazy wind around here wouldn't blow them off my steps), and finished with a bow. Simple, Simple, and so cute!

Silhouette Trick-or Treater

I seen this on Better Homes and Garden website. I free handed the Witch, cut it out of wood, (and Yes, I know how to use a jigsaw, I love being out in the garage and being able to create something), spray painted, and stuck her out in front of our house. I even added a spotlight to shine on her so that she is noticeable at night and driving by the house. I think on Halloween night I'll fill the bucket with candy. EEEK! Can I tell you how much my daughter loves this Witch? She thinks she is totally fun!

Trick-or-Treat Bag

What is a custom without a Trick-or-Treat bag to store all your loot?
I made this for my daughter who is pretty excited to be going out this year. I'm crossing my fingers the weather is nice and not raining or snowing, since in this area, ANYTHING is possible. I found a simple pattern on-line for the bag. It is the perfect size for my little one. It is not too big or too small. I simply used my computer to print off the lettering and used Heat & Bond. (This stuff is the bomb, if you haven't used it I highly recommend it.) All you do is cut out your image, apply the Heat & Bond with a hot iron, peel off the backing, and iron it onto your project. You can sew if you so choose to which adds great detail and personalty but I opted not to. It looked like a lot of work going around each letter. I added the little flowers and instead of sewing them onto the bag I sewed some button holes so that the flowers can be taken off the bag and used for hair clips. Since that is how I finished up the bows is with an alligator clip for a cute little girls hair. Want to know the best thing about this bag? The eyes on the fabric are glow-in-the-dark. Added bonus. I didn't know but when I finished up the bag I turned off the light since it was getting late and discovered that the "eyes" were glowing! I almost couldn't believe it. What an great bag I just created for Trick-Or-Treating!!!

Who Would've Known?!?

It is such a privilege to have been a part of such a Great thing!

Ya Know, When you feel Warm and Fuzzy inside.

As some of you know I work part-time with the Juvenile Probation Department.

My official title is the Youth Court Coordinator.

I oversee a the Youth Court Program and in some counties it is known as "Night Court".

It is for first time low risk offenders. If they and their parents choose to participate in the program they will come to my program and go in front my Youth Court Panel. The panel consists of high school students that decide the "fate" of the offender. The panel members are volunteers that are looking for community service hours for scholarships or may be looking at fulfilling a career in this field.

After working with some of these kids for so long I come to really appreciate them for who they are. These really are great kids.

This year we were able to do something different and unexpected.

We were able to reward two of our graduating panel members with $500.00 scholarships each to their college of choice.

This was the first year we have done this and can I tell you how awesome I felt!

There of course was criteria that needed to met. They had to submit an application, write a biography about themselves, and these specific two donated a ton of service hours to the program to help it run smoothly.

The two recipients are now full-time college students and this is a message from one of them that I received this last week and I thought I'd share it with you...

"Hey thanks sooooooooo much. I appreciate it. I've really enjoyed my time on the panel. It's been these short two years that have given me inspiration and purpose in life."

Keep in mind, these are good kids, some have come from a rough home and had a hard life too, but they have made the most of their challenges and will be successful. I have a feeling they will be! At the time when I started supervising the program I didn't think I might have any influence on any kid or their life but I think I might have with this one. All the years of being the bad person person because I put somebody in detention or in jail, or heaven forbid held someone accountable for their actions. I knew that what I was doing was the right and much needed thing but I finally get hear a comment like this.

New Words to an Old Song

Are you looking for a great Extracurricular Activity for your son(s) to be involved in? How about one that teaches kids about Healthy Living, exploring Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, Family Importance, and will also help to introduce them to some other kids trying to incorporate these values into their own lives.

The activity that I'm talking about is the Boy Scouts of America.

A few years back I was asked to attend Wood Badge near our area for work. We were taught basic principles of teamwork, leadership, and responsibility. Really I wasn't excited about being away from home and my family for 4 days each week for two weeks, all while camping out, getting up at 6:00, and being with some people I had never met that made up my "TEAM". The concepts that were taught and that I learned were very helpful and in the end there were times and moments that was very touching and special memories now.

I have even tried to encourage some of the troubled kids that I work with and associate with through my work to get involved and commit to this program. I know the first thing that comes to mind when the title "Boy Scouts of America" is heard is knot tying and camping, but it is so much more.

School has just started, and there will be new challenges to face. This program offers education, confidence, and a comfort level because kids are able to explore and try new activities and hopefully create new interests. Childhood obesity is a growing problem, scouting offers activities that helps kids stay in shape and educate them on proper nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle. Boy Scouts has developed a new curriculum with emphasis on STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The Robotics merit badge helps Scouts develop critical skills that are relevant in today's competitive world. Scouting also embraces the role of the family and supports activities and experiences that get everyone involved. Scouts teaches a wholesome system of values and beliefs while building and strengthening relationships among family members. Be A Scout

So check the program out in your area. I know that there is a Scouting Office nearby your own house. There will be somebody there happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

We live in an older home and it has a ton of storage.

The Bathroom, Master Bedroom, and my Craft Room all have these

Built in Dressers.

I decided that my Craft Room needed a makeover and this is what I have done so far.

Yes you can see that the walls are now purple,

and I LOVE THEM!!!

Before:

Here is a close-up of the lines, maybe you can guess what direction it is heading from here.

After:

I can't believe the interest it added to the room and what a fun feature instead of just a storage option.

I opted to spray paint the handles and hinges silver instead of leave them that antique gold.

The silver is soooo much better!

Was this a lot of work?

Heck YES!!!

It really was one of those projects that after I got started

and seen how much work I questioned why I had even started it.

I am so pleased with the end result though.

Moved by Emotion

I was truly touched yesterday by the support and recognition that was given to those brave men & women who have lost their lives on and since Sept. 11, 2001.

I was glued to our television yesterday morning and couldn't move away.

There were many times that I was moved to tears because of the heartache and healing that families were experiencing yesterday.

I still cannot seem to forget some of the images that were shown and I have thought much about them since.

My deepest prayer is that they find comfort in their own time.

Also that they remember that they too are HEROS!

I also feel that now is a good time to thank all the service men & women who have fought, are fighting, and are soon to be returning home.

Times like these are when you see the great in most people

and also the worst in others. (Shame on you!!!)

You need to re-evaluate the freedoms you have and enjoy everyday and the sacrifices that others have endured for you.

You personally may not have been there or lost a loved one but that HUGE historic event has impacted you!

Please if you haven't taken a minute to reflect on your own thoughts and feelings that were created that day, do so now. Sometimes fear keeps up from doing thing that we know we should but the best way to deal with it is Face to Face.

It's Baking Time

I love FALL!!!!

Simply because it is finally cool enough you can stand to have your oven working and all the fall smells that can be enjoyed! And I think Cinnamon is at the top of that list!

I found this wonderful recipe for Cinnamon Rolls.

Now, I'm not a fan of Cinnamon Rolls but these are to die for!

I halved the recipe since I didn't want Cinnamon Rolls coming out my ears and still it made one large cookie sheet and a small cookie sheet full of rolls.

Of course they weren't eaten in one day and stayed super fresh, moist, and delicious for a couple of days after. I re-heated them so I can have the "Fresh Out of the Oven" warmth without the work.

Now, that I've made you hungry and your mouths are watering. Go make you some and Enjoy!!! I have never made Cinnamon Rolls and they even come out looking and tasting like Cinnamon Rolls and better since they were made from scratch. Plus, you know you have a good recipe when it calls for Butter and Whipping Cream. You can't go wrong there. But, don't blame me, since they are completely addicting and full of calories.

Remember.... All things in moderation.

Oh, how I LOVE Fall!!!

It is official...

Fall is here!

It is time for jeans ( for me only the ones that fit me right now) Sweaters, Sweatshirts, and the comfy clothes.
When I woke up this morning it was perfect weather to start pulling some of those items out.
Can I tell you how much easier it is to dress for cooler weather than warmer weather.
I mean really there are only so many things you can take off without being completely exposed and everybody else being uncomfortable. Ha Ha

I feel that it is a perfect time to celebrate.

Hooded Towel Tutorial

These are great for gifts and if you are like me and expecting a cute bundle soon.

Trust me if I can make these, anybody can!

*These are WONDERFUL!!!*

Supplies:
Towel
Hand Towel
Ribbon
Sewing Machine

Sew Ribbon with a zig-zag stitch on both long ends of the hand towel.

(Go in just far enough to avoid the existing trim on the towel.)

Fold towel and sew right sides together. Only on one side.

I stop a little before the end so I can sew the hand towel to the towel easier later.

Open up the hand towel and it should look like a hood.

Fold towel in half and mark the center.
Fold the ends of the towel to make a pleat at approx. 4 1/2".
Pin in place.

Repeat for both sides.

Sew the right sides of the towel and the hand towel together.
Careful when you are sewing the center of the towel.
The fabric and ribbon is very thick and it is very easy to bend and break needles here.

Finished!!!

I'm So SPOILED!!!

I just had THE most relaxing weekend.

The hubby took the little one to visit his parents for the weekend and I got to stay home by myself.

I never had to cook a meal, I ate whenever and whatever sounded good. Even if it was cucumbers and pickles in ranch dressing. Yummy!!! I will eat that preggo or not!

I did whatever I wanted.

Some days I stayed in my PJ's until noon (or later).

I went through old clothes to get ready for the new little one to soon join our family.

***Eek! I can't wait!!!***

I even started on the Birth Announcements so that I can have those ready to just fill in the blanks when she gets here and I'll I have to do is send them out.

If any my friends are reading this post they are thinking or even saying. Yep, there she goes with her OCD. (Obsessive Compulsive Behavior) This is a joke but really I know that I show some signs and probably at more times than I realize. But, hey there is nothing wrong with being organized, planning ahead, and having things in order. MY ORDER!!! He, He!! See there it is!

So, I hope you enjoyed your weekend.

And thanks to my Hubby and His Family!!! You are the best!

It truly was a great weekend and I can't believe how rested I feel!

Sleep Out in the Back Yard

The Hubby and the Lil' one slept out on the Trampoline this weekend.

For my daughter being only 2 She is a Trooper!!!

She was so excited and wouldn't stay in the house after dinner.

So all of us ended up laying on the trampoline, Laughing, and Talking.

I opted to not sleep out there (since I'm preggers I decided that probably wouldn't be a good idea.)

Can you just imagine that sight! LOL

This was my view from the house when I was able to pull myself away from her.

TOO CUTE!!!

Sorry the picture is so blurry, I was trying to sneak it from the bedroom and forgot about the flash. But I knew if I tried to take another one, she would insist on seeing it and I didn't want to cause any issues.

The Lil' one refused to go to sleep until she seen the moon and

then proceeded to sing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.

The Hubby said she woke up around 4 or 5 o' clock and sang to him again.

I love the innocence that she has.

Really, life is all about the Little Things!

(Most especially the Little Ones.)

She slept until 7:30 that morning and wanted to do it again that night.

We had to convince her that she could again later.

The hubby was a little sore after trying to keep her covered and blocked from the wind all at the same time.

Another Old Window Redo

I had a custom order from a repeat customer and a close friend of mine.

She is in love with the old wooden windows and wanted one with her own saying.

I sanded down the window, gave it a fresh coat of paint, and applied her vinyl saying.

I think it looks great!

Today I decided I'd share a post with you that is a super easy DIY project.

This girl has skill!!

This was going to be a gift but ....

When I got it finished I knew we were going to long time friends and I couldn't part with it.

Here it is unfinished.

But here she is in all her glory!!!

I painted it up, applied some vinyl, (of course).

(Those are our house numbers in case anybody is wondering.)

Lastly, I put some sweet little pots and plants inside.

Found at Walmart.

The numbers are also available in my Etsy store if you want to purchase your own.

Now, it sits outside my front door next to my Welcome pot.

Pretty Darn Neat!

This last Friday I had the opportunity to meet some of my family at the airport to Welcome my Nephew home from his mission.

He served in Ohio for 2 years. And from what I understand he was an amazing missionary and the people fell in love with him right away!! When I hear this I thought to myself, what's not to love?!? He is AMAZING!!!

We met up, had lunch, and then headed to the airport with balloons, posters, and banners.

My sister was so funny to watch. When she watched him walk passed the doors and start heading down the escalator she gave out a squeal!!! She had a Very Proud and Deserved Mama Moment.

There was tears shed and hugs were given. It was so crazy to get to see him again. I am so lucky to have him in my family and to call him my own.

Now, don't get me wrong I'm not taking any credit on raising him right. (That was my sister and my parents.) I was the aunt that taught him things he shouldn't do like teasing and sometime hitting his younger brother so that it looked liked an "accident", or just to play the "stupid card" and act innocent.

He is such a good kid, a great inspiration, and I'm sure he will always be an Excellent Missionary.

His Homecoming is next weekend and there will lots of pictures so I will post more later and share more of the fun.

I Need Some Help!!!

As most of you already know, we are expecting a baby girl in November.

(Yeah!!!)

With our first baby I borrowed a carrier from a friend and I loved it!

Not wanting to buy one of my own to use for only a couple of months. I used hers and gave it back when I was finished with it. Plus I didn't know when we were going to have another baby so I decided to wait.

Now that the time is getting closer I need some advice on a good baby carrier. The one I borrowed from her is no longer available. I think I will get plenty of use for it, shopping, doing chores, and keeping up with our oldest daughter.

So if you could give me some suggestions on what brand and kind to purchase. It would be greatly appreciated!!!

Pizza Dough Recipe

FAMILY FAVORITE

If anybody's looking for an easy summer meal -Here it is!

1 T yeast
1 c. warm water
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. oil
2 1/2 c. flour
Preheat over to 425'.
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix dry ingredients. Add oil to yeast mixture then add flour mixture. Mix. Knead for a minute. Cover and set aside in a bowl.
Pat the dough into a greased pizza pan and let rise a few minutes. Generously spread on pizza sauce. Cover with your favorite toppings and cheese. Bake for 20 minutes.
Serve & Enjoy!

Re-Purposed Galvanized Bucket with Vinyl Welcome Lettering

If you have visited my Etsy store lately you have probably seen this picture.

But, let me tell you, there is a story behind it.

This big ol' bucket used to be used as my horse's water bucket.

In the winter there was even a heater in it to keep the water from freezing.

Yes, every day I packed water out for my horse,

Winter, Summer, Snow, Sleet, or Shine.

Then a couple of years ago.

My wonderful hubby splurged and bought a heated, electric, automatic waterer.

It is fabulous!!!

If the water get too low, it automatically refills, it stays cold, but will not freeze in the winter.

Even the neighborhood dogs, cats, squirrels, birds, and whatever else will come over for a cold drink.

They seem to love it too.

But, anyways, I had this bucket and I hated for it to go to waste.

So this is what it is now.

A PLANTER!!

It was kind-of pricey, but definitely we have gotten our use out of it.

The Hubby added some wheels.

(But, there won't be any moving this thing, it is way to heavy!)

I added the vinyl "Welcome" (which can be purchased at my store.)

The Calla Lilies, the Hens & Chicks, and the Solar Lights.

I must say it is a great addition to the entry way and I have really loved it!

Some projects I impress even myself, but when the hubby is impressed, you've done a good job!

Happy 4th of July

Hi all you reader's!

I know I have been "On a Break" from making any posts.

(I do have some that need to get posted, so tune back in.)

The hubby has been off for a few days and we have been lucky enough to just take it easy!

It has been GREAT!!!

We have been simply relaxing.

Of course we have done some yard work, went to the reservoir, had a cookout, got hay for the winter, and will be watching the fireworks this evening.

Sounds kind-of crazy? No, not bad at all.

I hope you are enjoying your families.

Your time off. (Hopefully)

We truly are lucky to live where we live and have what we have.

The week after Memorial Day Weekend we were finally able to have some nice days around here.

(I know, I'm just getting around to posting about it, give me a break.)

So, this is what I did.

I planted our Garden!!!

All planted and no weeds.

My lovely tomato plants.

This year I planted Huckleberries, Tomatoes, Peas, Cucumbers, Radishes, Lettuce, Onions, Corn, & Pumpkins. No I am just praying they grow and the animals will leave it all alone. I would love to have a garden full of everything that is planted. Wish me Luck!!!

Oh, and I found this labels at our local Nursery.

(Some days I will just stop in and admire all the plants and secretly wish I knew how to place those little lovelies in our yard. It is a total time killer but I love it!!)

They were blank and for a set of 4 I think I only paid approx. $4.00.

I got them home and immediately put vinyl on them so I can remember what I planted where.

I love them!!!

(I can't believe I didn't pull the grass before I snapped the pictures, man one more thing to add to the list tomorrow.)

Homemade Gift

One of my friends recently had a Birthday.

She says she loves to get stuff that is homemade, so that is what she gets ALL the time!

I hope she never gets tired of this because I love doing fun new stuff and having an excuse to do these projects.

This was her Gift this year.

If you are wondering and want to make your own this is what I used.

A square piece of wood.

A decorative dowel.
(Normally used for stair railing. But who needs that anyways, right?!?)

And for stability I used this end cap.

(This also has a dual purpose. Ya, know, those caps that go on top of fence posts?!? Yep, this is that!)

(Sorry about the blurry pictures, I was in a hurry and forgot to snap photos of the real thing. These are taken off the HomeDepot website.)

I put it all together with some wood and screws.

Let it dry overnight.

Painted, distressed it, and clear coated it.

I thought I was finished there but I couldn't.

I ran to Walmart and found that adorable dish.

And then it was finished.

(Can you believe that I can complete a project without adding vinyl? Simply Amazing!)

Yeah, right!

I filled that cute little bowl with the most divine "SNICKERS CAKE" ever!!!

Here is the recipe, make at your own risk.

(I will not held responsible for any harms or risks that come from this cake.)

If you are a chocolate and caramel lover this one's for you!

Everything in moderation, right?!?

SNICKERS CAKE

*********************

1 German Chocolate Cake Mix

2 lbs. of caramels

1/3 cup Milk

1 cube of Butter

Chopped Nuts

1 pkg. of Chocolate Chips

************************

*Mix cake according to directions.

Pour 1/2 batter into greased 9x13 inch pan & bake on 350' for 15 minutes or until done

Melt caramels with milk and butter.

Pour over cake and top with nuts, then chocolate chips.

Pour remaining cake batter on top and bake at 250' for 15 minutes, then at 350' for 10-15 minutes.

Happy Father's Day!!

(Let's be honest, this day is bittersweet for me.)

I want to tell every dad out there that has been a part of my life how much I appreciate them and I love them!

This includes my dad and those "fill in dads" that didn't have to be.

I'm not going to exaggerate on this topic (since I get all chocked up).

I love the words to the first of this song and thought I'd share.

I really wish this was the way things could be.

I love you and miss you dad!

This song is for my hubby and my daughter.

This is for all the times that you don't think anybody is watching,

but you really are a great dad.

I can't wait to see what's in store with you and 2 little girls.

Pickles, Pickles, & more Pickles

I absolutely love Bountiful Baskets

If this great service is offered in your area, it is so worth checking out and trying their great produce.

They offer "baskets" of produce weekly at a fraction of what you would pay in the Grocery Store.

The options change too, so you never know what you are going to get.

Personally, I think that is what is so fun about it.

This time we got...

Potatoes, Broccoli, Tomatoes, Blueberries, Tomatoes, Lettuce, Beans, Cucumbers, Strawberries, and I'm sure there was more but I can't remember it all.

The last time I ordered from them I ordered a case of pickling cucumbers.

(They were the BIGGEST pickling cucumbers I have ever seen!)

But delicious!!!

Normally I don't slice them and throw them in the bottles whole.

But hence, because of the size, I had to slice them.

Not by hand of course, I took the easy route and ran them through my Salad Shooter.

I don't know if you are like me but I can open a bottle and eat the bottle all by myself,

and I plan on doing that with these too.

When I got done, I had 3 dozen, that's right 3 dozen Dill Pickles, that looked Oh So Pretty.

Yep, that's all I'm going to be doing with them too for while is looking at them.

I have to wait 6 months until they have "pickled" and are ready eat.

I hate waiting!!!

I am dying to see what they taste like since I have never sliced them up before.

But Hey, I am very proud of myself that they are all done and on the shelves and that project is done for about 2 years.

(Plus, don't you love that crate?!? The pickles came in that, now I'm just trying to decide where to put. It needs to be admired!)

We Have Some News to Share!!!

I've been dying trying not to say a word about this.

I wanted it to be a huge surprise.

We are having another Baby Girl!!!!

She will be coming to our family in October/November!?!

(I say that because I the Dr.'s keep bumping up the due date, plus it is going to be a C-Section and they don't want me to start labor.)

I had an Emergency C-Section with our first one and the Hospital's policy is that they will not do a natural deliver after there was a C-Section due to the risks involved.

In all honesty am I excited about the delivery?

Absolutely not!!

The first one was very scary, but I'm confident in the Dr.'s and the Hospital and they have assured me that this one will be much different.

My thinking is that she will be born in October sometime, and I can't wait!!!

We had the ultrasound on Friday and my Hubby, My Mom, My In-Laws, and our daughter were all there.

There is something so amazing and so mesmerizing about those ultrasounds.

I could watch that little person all day long if I could!

She is a busy little bee, she was playing with the umbilical cord, she has an adorable little button nose, and is simply a perfect little blessing.

So far she is weighing 8 oz., heartbeat was 140 beats per minute, and is developing right on schedule.

Now comes the fun stuff....

Shopping, (lucky for us we have lots of pink stuff) deciding on a name, and getting ready!!!

Through our Back Door!

Here is a sneak peak into our backyard.

We were fortunate enough when we bought our house,

even though it is an older, (I'm talking 1950's) home,

it had a Yard, Mature Trees, and a Sprinkler System.

I had to snap these pictures before they were gone.

We have to apple trees that produce every year.

But this is my favorite part about them.

The Blossoms!!!

They are just gorgeous!

We were all outside one day when the wind started to blow a little.

And sadly the blossoms started to blow away.

My little one says,

"Look, it's snowing!"

(Please, don't let there be any more snow, but it sure was adorable.)

I was even able to take a little nap in the hammock, but before drifting off to sleep, I felt so lucky to have the home we do and the beauty that is just out out back door.

Funky Squares - Vinyl Wall Art, Graphics, Lettering, Decals, Stickers, Abstract

For the longest time we have had our daughter's toy/play room finished.

It just was in DIRE need of some decor and I never could decide on what to put in there.

Well, let me back up. This room used to have the old coal shoot on the far wall.

We decided to close it off and use it as a storage room. The truth should be told.

It was a room that housed a lot of JUNK!

When our daughter came along we got tired of the living room looking like toys had thrown up all over.

So my handy dandy hubby put up sheet-rock, insulation, and textured the room.

I painted it and put her toys in there.

I had a hard time trying to decide what color of paint to use.

It is in the basement, with no windows, and it measures approx. 8' x 10' tiny.

To be honest I'm not crazy over the paint color and have debated on whether I should repaint.

I opted not to since I thought it looked nice with the carpet, which by the way was FREE!

(Thank you local carpet store for the remnant!!)

So the other day I decided to put up some stickers and I'm really happy with the way it looks.

It helps to finish the room and later on I might add some more. I will keep you posted if I do.

(Don't you love how I coordinated the vinyl with colors on the table???)

The Scenery around our Neck of the Woods

I thought I'd share some photos with you of what is happening around here.

Fortunately for us, this is not our house, but CRAZY for those people that own this place.

(These are not my photos, but I had to share!)

We live in Idaho and this last year was a great year for the snow pack here and in Wyoming.

Wyoming supplies water for the Farmers' summer irrigation.

Shout out to WYOMING!!!

This past Monday, was a quiet day so the hubby took us for a ride to see how bad the flooding really was.

This is one of the many sites we see.

There were people out sandbagging trying to prevent flooding and some had their homes completely barricaded to prevent the water from reaching their place.

Some people were even parking their cars on the main road and not in their driveway so they could get to their car if the water covers their drive.

There is no way this field will be able to have time to produce a crop

For those unfortunate farmers and landowners they have declared a disaster so there will be some relief to help compensate for the loss of crops and yearly income.

This photo gives you another idea of how deep the water really is.

This is a blessing in disguise and in abundance.

For years we have had to deal with a drought in this area.

This year the rivers, streams, and lakes will be replenished.

This year may the farmers may not have the best crop but in future years to come there shows to be some promise.

For those that might be concerned, at the time our property is not in any risk.

We're crossing our fingers that we won't have to worry about that becoming a reality.

My DYSON Vacuum - My Favorite Cleaning Partner

You all are probably asking yourselves why have I posted a picture of my vacuum.

Well..... I love it!

We have had it a couple of years now and I'm not tired one bit of the thing.

I enjoy getting it out once a week to see what nasty things I pick up.

I know CRAZY, huh?!?

For some odd reason I get huge satisfaction from cleaning.

With the help of my Dyson I can rest at ease knowing it is doing a very good job!

I admit they are pricey but I feel that it has been a great investment.

Instead of going to Walmart to buy a $50 - $60 vacuum every year in the middle of serious cleaning time, I've been able to invest the money somewhere else.

We've had it over 6 years and it is still going strong and I have never had a minutes trouble with this baby.

As you can see the canister is clear so you can see all the hair, dirt, food, whatever is in this things path.

Once the canister is full you simply take it off and dump out the nastiness.

Want to know something really cool about this gadget?

It came equipped with all kinds of attachments.

For Stairs, Vehicles, Hard Wood, and Furniture.

Where do you put these attachments?

The handle pulls apart off the base of the vacuum and the handle becomes a hose.

Great way to reach those difficult places and projects that get neglected at times.

D.I.Y. Junky Tray

Do you all remember this post? This is my D.I.Y. Herb Garden.

I decided to junk/funk it up a bit.

I thought how handy it would be to have a tray sort of thing to carry the herbs around.

Either to take them outside for sunlight, water, or just to another area in the house.

Sooo...........

This is what I came up with.

I simply took 3 boards of wood and glued them together.

Spray painted them and let them dry.

Distressed them with Distress Ink in - Walnut Stain

Clear coated for protection and so that the Distress Ink wouldn't rub off on clothes or hands.

Added some vinyl and handles.

Finished!!!

Young Women Birthday Spotlight

This year we decided we wanted to do something special for you Young Women when they have their birthdays. We used to have them pull out 3 questions out of box and answer then on the spot. This seemed to be getting a little old, so we decided to do a "Spotlight" on each girl. They had to fill out a questioner about themselves before their birthday so we could share their responses on the first Sunday of the month that their birthday fell in.

Here are the questions:

1. What are your favorite shoes?

2. What is your favorite smell?

3. What is your favorite day of the week?

4. What is your favorite place?

5. What is your favorite thing to do?

I have to admit some of the responses made me laugh out loud!!

There was one that said her favorite smell was bacon, one said her favorite place to be a was hot steamy shower.

There is no wonder why I love this "job",

these are girls after my own heart!

I also put this binder together so we could keep everything in order and in place so the responses wouldn't get lost. It is divided by tabs for each month of the year. So if anybody is in need of some ideas feel free to use this or branch off of it if you need to fit your needs.

I have to admit that since I am now a momma I hope that someday I can partially fill those shoes ahead of me that my mom & mom-in-law filled. Everyday my own mom showed us how to live life unselfishly and to truly give of yourself. My M.I.L. gave me a great gift, My Hubby! She has also taught me to laugh, laugh even when you don't want to. It is HARD!!!

I'm sure there is a new challenge I face everyday.

It all seems to make sense when the lil' one looks at colors and knows which color is which,

she listens and puts her toys away the first time I ask,

or helps put the laundry away cuz she wants to and wants to spend time with her momma or.....

At the end of the day it all soooo very worth it

when I tuck my lil' one in her bed and she says,

Battle in the House!

My Hubby has been gone for a few days on a business trip.

The night he left I went to crawl into bed and this is what was waiting for me.

I didn't realize there was such a "Battle for the Biggest Man in the House."

I used to get excited when this little guy would choose me over my Husband.

But now when I know that get to have the bed to myself, I want to spend a night completely alone.

Ha Ha! Gotta love the animals! There is something fun about having pets!

Create Your Own Herb Garden

I have seen some adorable Herb Gardens floating around but I was really leery about...

1. Spending that kind of $$$

2. Taking the chance the gift wouldn't make it in good condition

3. What if the seeds don't grow?!?

(I had been looking at the ones that come with the dirt packaged singly, and the seeds ready to plant.)

I like giving gifts that are ready to go and no hard work involved for the receiver.

So crafty me decided to DIM - (DO IT MYSELF!)

I was lucky enough to have found these adorable pots at Walmart for around $1.00 each, the plants already growing for around $3.40 each, and I already had the dirt on hand.

The total cost of the project $13.50!!!

Score!!!

When I got them all planted I decided to add some vinyl label to the pots for added cuteness!

Super Easy and Yummy Easter Treats

Special K Cereal Bars

This has to be one of my favorite recipes ever!

1 cup of Sugar

1 cup of Karo Syrup

Bring to a good boil.

Take of the stove top & add 1 cup of Peanut Butter

2 teas. vanilla

Add 5-6 cups Special K Cereal. (I like to use a little more cereal)

Mix it all together so all the cereal is covered in the creamy goodness!

Place it all in a large cake pan.

Frosting:

Melt 1 package of Chocolate Chips and some Peanut Butter.

(The amount of Peanut Butter depends on your preference.)

Then spread on top, cut, and ENJOY!

Usually I double the recipe and make a HUGE cake bar pan.

(The more the merrier!) Plus it is a great thing to give away.

This year I decided to be a little festive. After the cereal mixture cooled.

I scooped a heaping spoonful on a waxed sheet of paper, pushed in the middle.

Drizzled the chocolate mix on top and placed the Jelly Beans on to make it look like a nest.

There are a couple variations to the last step pictured.

(When I do this again, I'll use chocolate beans instead of fruity jelly bean.)

I should've known better, Chocolate all the way Baby!

Easter is the best for the goodies, so why not make your own??

I'm Back!!!

Hi There to all my faithful followers/readers.

It has been a long time since I have posted anything. I'm soooo sorry!

The good news is I'm finally feeling better and for those that are wondering what that nastiness was that I was suffering with. Well the biopsy came back with the result of Exema Dermatitis. Do I completely believe it? No, not really, but hey that is what the Dr. determined.

It has taken me awhile to get back on my feet though, it completely wiped me out. But I'm feeling much better and no worries there will be some projects that I'll be posting, (I couldn't let good time go to complete waste.)

I hope this finds you all well and happy.

Oh, and by the way, are you ready for Easter?!?

This Holiday tops my list of favs. I love the colors, the food, and of course the candy!

What in the World is THIS???

This is my excuse for M.I.A.

You are probably asking yourself, What is THAT???

I know I have been to, and for a week I have stumped 3 different Dr.s', and still there hasn't been any answers.

Can you say frustrated? Yep, me too!

This is my rash that started in the crease of my right elbow and slowly spread to my wrist and halfway up my bicep. It itched, burned, swelled like a balloon, and hurt!

So as of Friday this is what they decided to do to. They took a biopsy of my arm. They numbed the area and took a chunk of my arm for testing. And this was the worst part, they gave me a shot in the buttocks. OH, the PAIN!! And talk about a flashback to good old Dr. Perks days, for those of you that grew up in S.V. and had him as a Dr. know what I'm talking about. This taken right when I got home and I am pretty proud of myself that I drove myself home afterwards. Yeah, I probably shouldn't have, since I am not the strongest person when it comes to Dr.'s, Dr'.s Offices, needles, knives. Ewwww!

I did kind-of have a pity party for myself too this weekend.

So bad I just wanted to hear my Dad's voice on the phone telling me that everything will be fine. Every time I got sick when I was little I found comfort in my Dad. Since he's gone, I realize how much I miss that and everything else he did for me. What would I give to have a few minutes to ask those questions that you always had the perfect answer to, to just sit and talk about nothing and feel like we accomplished everything, or to have one last hug, horse ride, or to hear that you are proud of and the things that I have accomplished.

Dad, I love you!

Thanks for everything you sacrificed for us and for being you!

I am hoping that they call me any time now with the results. I want my life back! I have had a fever, nausea, horrible shakes, and very weak!

On the bright side, I was able to round up enough energy to make my sweet little Grandma's family favorite recipe for Chicken Noodle Soup. It didn't taste as good as hers but it will have to do since, unfortunately she isn't here to make it for me. I know that if she was she would've have surprised me at the door with it this weekend. Miss ya Grandma, thanks for letting us have a few of your delicious recipes. They will be forever cherished.

She Turned 2!!!

This past week my baby girl turned TWO!!!

I have to admit it was bitter sweet. This is a little bit of how things went down.

My in-laws came for a visit and we had presents and cupcakes. (BTW, have you seen this super neat and awesome book?)

What kid or adult wouldn't like a sample of the amazing "Edible Masterpieces"? I chose to make the Bears and Seals for her.

Plus that way there was a variety to choose from, Vanilla and Chocolate = Everybody is Happy!

New Looks!

If you haven't visited my blog lately, you HAVE to check it out! I am not an expert in the computer lingo and how to add designs to your blog soooo...... I had someone do it for me! (I know I took the easy way out, but what can I say, I like things easy.) Let's be honest, I just simply have a hard time following instructions. The hardest part was deciding on what I wanted, what design, what colors, and font.

I have a love for the animal print that is such a hit in decor and fashion.

I think it also could be an obsession.

But really nobody gets hurt from it right?!?

I am thinking that I will be changing the color in my living room

and possibly adding this very design in there.

How Easy Is That?!?

I have been doing a ton of research to try to improve my blog and my Etsy store,

ya know more traffic,

more followers,

and of course more sales.
(Then there are followers who tell people and invite them to a blog. Hint Hint!)

I have also gone to other people to ask for advice and suggestions.

The biggest thing I have found is to make sure you have awesome photos,

since really they sell your product.

I decided to try it out and ask for suggestions.

Huge difference, without a ton of $$$ spent, but a big, big difference. All I did was purchase some foam boards from Walmart to use as a background and underneath the product.

My Weird & Crazy T.V. Reality Showssessions

I know this sounds absolutely out there, but there some T.V. reality show that I HAVE to watch. (I know your thinking that anything is possibly, it's me!) It is as if I have become their BFF's and have to know every detail of their personal lives. Sometimes as I'm watching the shows I'm thinking Why are you sitting here when you have a bizillion other things that need your attention?!? And yep, I stay right there glued to the T.V. Really I'm no big T.V. watcher but I'm hooked.

Here they are in no particular favorite order... (drum roll please)

Teen Mom 2

(If you haven't seen this show, I'll fill you in. There is a couple, Leah & Cody, they have twin girls and there is a medical concern with one of their babies. The suspense is killing me. I want to know that everything will be alright. Once I know, I might stop watching, well, I don't know, since I know the other girl's biz, I might have to finish the season. I know for the last couple of shows I have sit on the couch and cried, my heart hurts for them.)

This girl is amazing and does she have an eye for a steal. She hosts estate sales for customers to help them make their ideal amount of $$$. Of course she gets some commission off of the sales, but I keep going back for more to see what she will uncover next. Luv it!!

Keeping up with the Kardashians

Drama, Drama, Drama! Why do I watch, I have no explanation but I do, sorry that's all I have.

At least there are only 3 and they don't all air on the same night of the week. Ha Ha!
